Cannon Beach Week
My camera has been acting really funny lately- a few weekends ago- we went to my cousin's wedding in Mississippi and it would not work- I thought that I had used up the life of my rechargeable batteries so when we got back home- I immediately went and bought new batteries. Well- ever since than- even with new batteries that are FULLY charged- my camera won't let me take any pics- the screen keeps flashing up "Change batteries"!!! YIKES~ I sure do hope we can figure out the problem. I love being able to take pics and really missed out on some fun ones of our time with Reeves's family this past week. Thankfully, my mother-in-law, sister-in-law and brother-in-laws ALL had camera's and have graciously allowed me to use their pictures on our blog. Thank you Aron for letting me borrow some of your pictures- you ( and Collin too), both are fantastic photographers and I always love the images you grab of my son and our family!! Thank you for being willing to photograph my child too!!!! Be sure to check out their blog for even more fantastic pics depicting our week at Ocean Isle!!
I have never been to Ocean Isle before but Reeves grew up vacationing there and kept telling me how much I was going to love it. Well..... he was right. Reeves's parents rented an AWESOME house on a canal ( which you could SWIM in at high tide- sooo fun), it had a pier that allowed the kids to FISH ( one of Tal's favorite activities of the week) and a pool ( we spent lots of afternoons hanging out at the pool)- sooo fun!!! PLUS- the BEACH was only a few blocks away. Tallon swam, played, laughed, cried, ate LOTS of food, napped and headed straight back out to the water or pier to fish. He is 1 exhausted little boy ( and I am pretty sure my neice and nephew are pretty worn out also!!) I love having the 3 kids soo close in age -Makgill- 4 yrs, Tallon ( almost 3) and Clara Beth- 2 yrs. They really loved swimming and fishing together, chasing each other and just hanging out. Nothing like family!!!
I just "borrowed" a few of Aron and Collin's pics to show you a small taste of our week at the beach!

Fishing on the pier- The boys actually got really good at casting their rods
Swimming in the canal-
I am not usually a huge fan of swimming in the ocean but the canal
was so refreshing to jump into in the afternoons!

My child rarely eats fruit- especially apples but I would carry an apple with me to the beach to eat each morning and quickly had Tallon and Clara Beth asking for some.
I learned to carry 2 apples- 1 for me, 1 for Tal and Clara Beth to share!
The Grangers came down for a night and Lilah got in on the apple sharing also=)

Prayer
This morning, Reeves and Tallon fixed waffles for breakfast so we all sat down in our chairs, with Leah in the exersaucer. Reeves went to pray and Tal said "No Daddy, Let ME Pray", so we did... the following is Tal's AM Prayer....
Dear God
Thank You for letting my mommy let Mak come to my house tommorrow
Thank You my mommy is home now
Thank You Baby Leah is here
AMEN
Thank You for letting my mommy let Mak come to my house tommorrow
Thank You my mommy is home now
Thank You Baby Leah is here
AMEN
Just a few side notes- I looked up at Reeves at the close of Tal's prayer and said did he just say.... repeat prayer and Reeves said Yes he did- we both found his prayer quite sweet and funny!
-as Tallon prayed for Mak to come to his house tom- he looked up at me with this HUGE smile- like PLEASE Can he come for real!!
-I worked last night so it absolutely melted my heart to hear him say that he is GLAD I am home now!!!
-Today is our last day keeping Leah and I know 1 little boy who is going to REALLY miss having this sweet little girl in our home weekly!!

12 and 32
Well- I have finally reached the 12th week of pregnance! 196 days to go!! I am still having some rough bouts of nausea/vomiting at times throughout some days, but than other days go great!! I am really praying that this will slowly ease away in this next week! We shall see! Tallon seems to be adjusting to the "talk" of a new baby. He says he wants a "baby sista" the majority of the time. He loves to come take the baby from my belly and hold it and than will say "Baby Go Night Night and put it back to my belly". too funny- hope he doesn't think baby will come and go this easy when he or she arrives in person! The other weekend- we were on the boat and talking about Daddy going skiing and Tallon said "mommy ski" and I said No- Mommy can't ski because of the baby. Well- Tal evidently wanted me to ski because he came up to my belly- held his hands out and said - "I hold baby- now mommy ski" and placed the baby up to his belly!!I am soo thankful for each opportunity we get to check out "baby" in the womb. I think it is soo cool to see the changes and growth over just a few weeks. Here are some pics of Baby #2 at 12 weeks.
I can not wait to meet this little one!!on a fun note- i sleep with my Right arm up over my head. In 1 of our ultrasounds with Tal- his Right arm is up and once he was born, we could never swaddle him bc he slept with his arms up over his head and still does to this day! Evidently this baby is not going to be "swaddleable" either bc he/she is already keeping their arms up!! =)
Speaking of Tallon- my 32 month old boy!
Tallon has developed quite an imagination lately. There are constant choo-choo and "all aboard" and snake sounds going throughout my house. He loves to attach something to the back of his trike and tell me that is his boat and he will back up the trike putting the boat in water, etc. We had the kitchen chairs in a row of 3 the other day while we vacuumed under the table and Tallon did not want us to put the chairs back because this was his train. He spent a good bit of time yelling out "all aboard" and making the train sounds as the train headed to his destination!
We have found several snakes in the backyard lately (YIKES!!!) and so he loves to put on his rain boots, hat, grab a stick and head out into the yard - "I'm looking for snakes mommy!!" Oh BOY oh BOY- that is JUST what mommy wants him to find!!
Speaking of sticks.... there are currently 4 sitting outside our front door- Tal and I had a LONG talk this morning about why he can NOT bring sticks into the house!! so now they sit outside the door and he happily grabs 1 or 2 or more as he heads outside to play!
Tal loves to sing and now proudly sings the whole version of "Jesus loves me" as well as ABC song, Happy Birthday. EIEO and The wheels on the bus still rank in his top song list request!! He is currently learning Twinkle Twinkle Little Star it is hilarious to hear him attempt to sing this song!
He is quite my little eater- still picky when it comes to fruit but LOVES most everything else- especially COOKIES AND CAKE! Tal's last day of MMO was this morning and I am looking forward to spending lots of time with him swimming and playing this summer- I am a little bit sad to think this is my last summer with him- just "us" you know!
Memorial Day
Tal woke up Sunday morning ASKING to go to lake! We were packed, just told him we had to wait until after church!! so as soon as church was out- we were on the road and Tallon was sooo excited! He LOVES the boat, water, swimming and playing at the lake!! This kid is definitely my little outdoor boy! We spent Sunday afternoon putting the boat and jet skiis in the water and both mom and I managed to grab a nice nap in the hammocks while Tal napped inside!!
Monday morning- several of our friends came down to hang out for the day!! We had a blast and it was fun watching the kids play together! Thanks for coming everyone!

MAY FLY
Someone gave us several free tickets for "May Fly" this past weekend, so we headed out to the airport with the Elder family Saturday after lunch. We knew that we could not stay long ( Reeves had to perform a wedding that afternoon). We managed to check out the old cars on display and see several old helicopters before the rain started. So we never got to see the airplanes actually fly.... maybe next year.

SILLY BOY
We have been keeping a PRECIOUS little girl- Leah- 2 days a week while her mom finishes out the school year. She was born this past Decemeber so I keep looking at her and thinking... this is about what our baby will be doing this time next year! WOW!
Tallon adores Leah and is very helpful- he can make her laugh and it is soo cute! He also enjoys all the baby toys we have brought out for Leah- especially the bouncy seat!

165
sorry for the lack of blog posts, but I have not felt up to blogging- been doing LOTS more laying on the couch and trying to eat often enough to prevent getting sick. We are doing well though- I have some pics of Tallon to post and will do soo soon. The big news with Tal is that last Thursday he learned how to PEDAL HIS TRICYCLE!!!!! What a BIG BOY. I could not believe it when he hopped on the trike and started trying to pedal. I hardly had to work with the kid- I guess boys are born knowing how to run, jump and pedal! It has made me realize how BIG he is getting.
For other big news....
We got to see baby #2 this morning. Everything looks good. You could even start to see the arm and legs budding out=) Heartbeat was 165. I am amazed everytime I see this tiny dot and how God is already knitting it together inside of me.

Numbers
12- approximately the number of strawberries I ate this afternoon while we were at the
strawberry patch picking strawberries-- can you say DELICIOUS!!
3 or 4- the number of strawberries Tallon "tasted" with his tongue to see if he liked
strawberries.... umm- we definitely still do not care of strawberries
3- how many times we got up with Tal last night ( seriously- when are they supposed to sleep thru the night??
4- the number of nights we got to spend "childless" last week- while Reeves was at a conference, I enjoyed shopping and eating and Tallon enjoyed time with the grandparents!!
9- the number of times Tallon has asked me to go see Mak today! (and it is only 2 pm!)
2- the number of birthday gifts I bought today
0- the amount of cleaning that I have done today
6 1/2- how many weeks pregnant we are with baby #2
I won't bother you with how many times I have been nauseaus or tired this week- that number is too high to count!! =) But we are THRILLED and soo excited about the little baby God is knitting together in my womb. I am one of those who always says I am going to wait til I am 12 weeks (or further along) to tell people because I "worry" about all the what-ifs. but God has blessed us with a wonderful support system of family and friends and I just can not keep quiet!! so look for the next little Cannon to arrive sometime early December ( Lord willing!)

PIZZA, PIZZA
Our small group headed over to the Laing's home this past Friday evening to hang out and enjoy some delicious, homemade brick oven pizza. We have been taking a break from our study due to the busyness in everyone's life so it was wonderful to hang out with our friends again. We are looking forward to starting back up in May again!! I did not take too many pics bc I was too busy eating and talking but here are a few! We sure are thankful for the Friends God has given us here!!
The kids enjoyed running around the yard, sliding, swinging and playing ball while the adults visited!

Papa's Truck

We worked in the yard Sat morning and needed some pinestraw- so Reeves borrowed Papa's truck to go pick up the pinestraw. Tallon was with him so he got to ride "up front" in the truck with Daddy. TALK ABOUT A THRILL!! This little boy is still asking to go for a "ride in Papa's truck"!! He thought he was soo cool riding in a truck!!
Sooo, Reeves is putting out the pinestraw and Tallon is walking around with Reeves phone calling people (pretend calling) and when Reeves is finished, he starts looking for his cell phone. Thankfully, we have learned to ask Tallon where stuff is when we know we had seen him with it recently. Tallon immediately grabbed Daddy's hand, walked him over to the truck and pointed up to where you put the gas in. Evidently this is a great place to keep your cell phone!

Who knows HOW LONG Reeves and I would have searched for his cell phone before checking here!
